Welcome to the Platonic Realm

Ever wanted to know what makes the universe tick?

Does the universe tick?

Have you ever been left a bit baffled by some of the exotic ideas mentioned in popular science programmes?

Whether it's Many-Worlds theory, extra dimensions, or quantum entanglement, this is the place to find technically precise, but easily accessible overviews of some of the most important topics in modern thought. It is often the case in scientific writing that fundamental concepts are explained in very vague, cursory terms. This style of writing is designed to capture the attention of layman readers and inspire a foundational interest in scientific research. The problem is however, that there is often no middle ground between this low-level stirring-up of interest, and proper academic study. As a result, the public receive a particularly blinkered perception of physical theories and miss out on understanding some of the most interesting points of debate!

I hope to provide a series of articles that do not require any academic study to understand, but offer far greater precision and insight into the hottest topics of popular physics. As well as a Physicist, I am also a Philosopher and would like to share a range of interesting topics from a field that is all too often written off as archaic and of no value to modern academia. My first set of posts will be concerned with topics in Quantum Mechanics and its Philosophy. I will cover topics such as Many-Worlds theory, Schrodinger's Cat, Quantum Entanglement, and Superposition. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts, and I encourage you to comment, or to request topics for me to cover.

"Mathematics has beauty and romance. It's not a boring place to be, the mathematical world. It's an extraordinary place; it's worth spending time there" - Marcus du Sautoy
